Oli turned into Little Foot....

I am not a very good blogger, as much as I want to be. I haven't updated in over two years! There have been lots of changes around here! I'll post this blog with the fact that Oli didn't stay as Oli. I decided to rename him Little Foot. And while he had big puppy feet, he did end up staying quite little! As he's grown, I've also found I'd say his mix to be Pit Bull Terrier x Dachshund x French Bulldog. It was up in the air back when he was a puppy.....and while I still can't say for sure, from some his looks and personality, I'd say the above fit (as well as the Pit Bull type from his mother).

While Chomper and I walk and hike all the time (and love it), Oli will only just beginning his journeys into the outdoors of Wisconsin! He is still too young to go long or to too many places, as he hasn't finished his puppy shots, but I have taken him on two short outings, where I know it isn't too dog crazy, and especially at this time. The walking trail near my house, which also has the wood trails where I take Chomper hiking, and to the frozen ice that is Lake Superior! Though, things are warming up again now, for the moment, so might not do that again just yet, ha! Oli seemed to enjoy himself romping around catching leaves and chasing Chomper! Chomper just wants you to find something for him to fetch, for the most part, or to run around and be startled by birds flying ahead. He has a good time though!

These pictures aren't too exciting, as when they were taken, it's been some quite cold of days - so we didn't stay out too long! Just enough to get out of the house for a while!

Introduction to Oli

Oli, the new addition who arrived on January 13th, 2015. He is a 9 week old puppy who made his journey from his foster home in Indiana to me in upstate Wisconsin! I first saw his litter on Chazhound Dog Forum, posted by one of the members. I thought they were just the cutest puppies! She did an update and I looked at them again, and had to ask if it would be possible to get one of the puppies to Wisconsin....and....well.....it was!

Oli's mother was found as a pregnant stray, so we don't know what his dad his. His mother is a Pit Bull Terrier (mix?). The litter is quite stubby and with some length, so possible has some Dachshund or Corgi in there somwhere. This picture below is Oli, his sister named Cali, and their mother named Lyra.

Now, Oli made his way here by two awesome people from the forum! AmberH, who also is his families foster home bringing him a little past Chicago and meeting with Moth, who then brought him home and kept him overnight until she traveled from Madison upstate to me! These two were amazing for getting him to me, as it was many hours of driving!

Oli has been incredibly sweet and him and Chomper are getting along amazing! Lots of playing has gone on between them! Chomper is so happy to have a tug buddy! So far, Oli has just slept in bed with Chomper and I. He slept through the night with us last night. I did try the crate here and there throughout the day, and he will throw a bit of a fit not being able to follow me, so going to continue doing some work with that, as he'll need to at least be in the crate while we're out of the house. He also came to me being very good about pottying outside! As soon as your bring him outside, he will potty...though pooping takes a little time, haha. Plus doesn't help it is freeeeezing out!

But all in all, so far it's been a good time with the new addition. Now let us hope he doesn't start getting TOO naughty as he settles! ^-^

Introduction to Chomper

Chomper is the first member of my personal dogs! He is a now, 9 month old, Miniature Australian Shepherd I purchased from a breeder. He has been such a wonderful, yet annoying, dog!

He has been such an enjoyable and fun dog to have. As a young puppy he was easy to potty train, usually only needing to go out once a night, which he would alert you too, and then be good to go back to sleep until 9am. He has had an easy recall, just about taking to it on his own. Which is awesome to me, as I've never had a dog who can go off leash and be good to come back up until him. So, we have a lot of off leash hikes and swims when the weather lets us! Excited to watch him enjoy the beach this coming summer. We currently have a lot of plans as far as activites and training we are working on, including; trick dog titles, agility, flyball, therapy dog, service dog (ID) and overall of course just an all around companion. Which, if you ask me, so far he is, but sometimes he could maybe use a couple minor tweeks!
